Cuplu de romani arestati în Marea Britanie pentru clonarea cartilor de credit. Montau dispozitive „skimming” pe automatele bancare din Stockport, Chorlton, Stretford etc…

Jailed, Stockport cashpoint crooks in hidden-camera scam Bank-users had their accounts raided after false slots were placed on ATM machines.

Cashpoints were rigged with ‘card-catching’ devices and miniature cameras by fraudsters.

Bank-users had their accounts raided after false slots were placed on ATM machines.

The devices were fitted with special trays which kept hold of cash cards, while the camera of an mp3 player secretly wedged above would film the holder entering their pin number. Once the user had walked away from the machine, thinking their card had been swallowed, a fraudster waiting nearby would remove the false slot and the hidden camera.

The stolen card would be used to make withdrawals of £300 a time and buy petrol.

The facts of the scam – which stretched between April last year and February this year – emerged as Romanian nationals Bogdan Bordica, who made the devices, and Margit Bidell, who made the withdrawals, were jailed after being linked to the offences by CCTV.

Bordica, 35, of Castleton Avenue, Stretford, has been jailed for 18 months after admitting charges of making an article for use in fraud and handling stolen goods.

The court heard that Bordica, who has previous convictions for conspiring to steal from gaming machines and attempting to steal from a parking meter, grew up in orphanages but built up a successful construction business before falling on hard times and moving to the UK three years ago.

Bidell, 54, of Worthing Street, Rusholme was jailed for 10 months after admitting theft, handling stolen goods and driving whilst disqualified.

She came to the UK in 2000 after facing employment and housing problems in post-Communist Romania, but was deported back there five years later after being convicted of shoplifting. She returned to Britain in 2007 and began working as a cleaner – but got into trouble again when she provided false details to escape a speeding charge.
