Three arrested and five Romanians ‘rescued’ in raid on A14 car wash near Cambridge Services and Travelodge

Three men have been arrested and five Romanians rescued after police raided a car wash off the A14 near Cambridge last night in a crackdown on ‘slave’ labour.

The men arrested by the Cambridgeshire force are aged 73, 29 and 20 and have been taken into custody at Huntingdon police station.

Five men and one woman, all of Romanian origin, have been taken into voluntary protective custody in the form of the National Referral Mechanism.

The News joined about a dozen officers led by Chief Inspector James Sutherland in the fifth raid in the Cambridge area as part of Operation Puffin aimed at rescuing exploited workers.
