A CORDON has been put up in Harrow town centre after a 29-year-old was beaten up and left with head and abdominal injuries by five men now being sought by police.

Forensic teams are gathering evidence in front of shops in Station Road over the road from St John’s Church.

The attack on the 29-year-old happened at 11.30pm yesterday.

Officers called to the scene found the victim being treated by paramedics for head and abdominal injuries received after being attacked by a group of five males, all believed to be of Romanian origin.

The victim was taken to a north London hospital where he remains for treatment.

Detective Sergeant James Griffin, of Harrow CID, said: "At this stage of our inquiries, this looks like a vicious unprovoked assault on a lone male which has left him with injuries that will keep him in hospital for the next few days.
